If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implants are one of the best investments you can make in your smile. Permanently secured into your jaw bone, dental implants replace virtually all characteristics of natural teeth, helping restore health, function, and beauty to your smile! If you are concerned about their cost, or have questions about dental implants in general, it can help to know how the treatment process works at our St. Charles, IL office. Our team is extensively trained and highly qualified to complete all procedures related to the placement of dental implants, which has helped many patients decide to pursue their implant treatment with us. We encourage you to read about our unique dental implant treatment process, then schedule a consultation so you can meet our team and begin your journey to a beautiful, complete smile!
Dental implants are a big investment, but one that can improve your health, attractiveness, and confidence long-term. At your consultations and preliminary appointments, we will discuss your medical and dental history, take 3D images of your mouth, and answer all your questions and concerns about treatment.
When we have gathered all pertinent information, we talk with you about your personal smile goals and the treatments you may need to restore health to your mouth. These treatments can include extracting failing teeth or bone grafting. During this time, we will also verify financial information, insurance, and any third-party financing.
Today is a big day! We will place two or more dental implants into your jaw bone while you are comfortably sedated. This surgery generally takes only a few hours and is completed conveniently in our St. Charles IL office. You will most likely need someone to drive you home after your procedure, and we will provide all necessary post-operative instructions at this time.
A few weeks after your surgery, you will return to our office for a quick follow-up appointment. This lets our team examine how your implants are healing and if you are having any oral conditions or concerns that need addressing. During this time, we may remove any stitches from your surgery.
Dental implants need at least four months to fully heal and integrate with your jaw bone. You should expect minor pain and swelling directly after your surgery, which will go away on its own and can be alleviated with over-the-counter medication. We may provide you with a temporary denture during your healing period, so you never go without teeth.
Today you will receive your new denture or prosthesis! While your dental implants healed, we worked closely with a dental laboratory team to restructure your original denture or fabricate a new one. Your denture is designed to look and feel natural, helping fill out your face without appearing bulky. Once we have ensured a proper and comfortable fit, we will attach the denture to your implants for an immediate smile transformation!
Our care does not stop once your final denture is in place. A large part of ensuring your dental implants last for many years is by maintaining a proper oral hygiene routine and visiting our office regularly for cleanings and exams.
